THE REST OF THE BEST OF THE YEAR: Black Book -
Charlie Wilson's War -
Disturbia -
Before we begin... honestly, we cannot get through any film dealing with Alzheimer's (aka senility in our childhood) since we've already been through it first hand. Yes, that put us out in left field with other critic's groups we belong to that lauded The Savages or Julie Christie in Away From Her etc. Ditto for a film like he Diving Bell and the Butterfly -- given that my neck's been broken three times with accompanying paralysis in three different ways, writing a book post-stroke (even when it's based on a true story) isn't enough to sway us. All we need to do is write a book and drop dead and that's that...
